Submit a Nomination for an ISPOR Scientific and Leadership Award

The ISPOR Awards Council is now accepting nominations for the Society’s Scientific and Leadership Awards.

Help recognize outstanding contributions to the field of HEOR!

ISPOR’s scientific achievement and leadership awards program is designed to foster and recognize research excellence, leadership, and outstanding technical achievement in health economics and outcomes research (HEOR).

The ISPOR Scientific & Leadership Awards include:

  Avedis Donabedian Outcomes Research Lifetime Achievement Award

  The Avedis Donabedian Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes an individual's outstanding, life-long achievement in the area of improving health outcomes.

  • Nominator: Must be an ISPOR member
  • Nominee: Open to all
  • No self-nominations allowed

Marilyn Dix Smith Leadership Award

  The Marilyn Dix Smith Leadership Award recognizes an individual who has shown consistent, broad, and meaningful direction to the Society in a leadership role.

  • Nominator: Must be an ISPOR member
  • Nominee: Must be an ISPOR member in good standing, for at least 5 years
  • No self-nominations allowed

Bernie O’Brien New Investigator Award

  The Bernie O’Brien New Investigator Award is given to an individual who has shown evidence of exceptional promise based on their emerging body of technical and scholarly work in the field of health economics and outcomes research.

  • Nominator: Must be an ISPOR member
  • Nominee: Must be an ISPOR member
  • Self-nominations are welcome

LMIC Health Economics and Outcomes Research Excellence Award

The LMIC Health Economics and Outcomes Research Excellence Award recognizes individuals with demonstrated outstanding research achievements in the area of health economics and outcomes research in LMICs (as defined by the World Bank).

  • Nominator: Must be an ISPOR member
  • Nominee: Must be an ISPOR member
  • Self-nominations are welcome

HEOR Excellence Award—Methodology

  The HEOR Excellence – Methodology Award is given to an exceptional paper that advances the field of outcomes research and is expected to have a substantial impact on the field with anticipated wide acceptance and application by others.

  • Nominator: Must be an ISPOR member
  • Nominee: Open to all, but must be nominated by an ISPOR member
  • Self-nominations are welcome

HEOR Excellence Award—Application

  The HEOR Excellence – Application Award is given to an outstanding example of applied health outcomes research that has or is expected to have a high impact on health policy or healthcare decision making.

  • Nominator: Must be an ISPOR member
  • Nominee: Open to all, but must be nominated by an ISPOR member
  • Self-nominations are welcome
