Background
The ISPOR Institutional Council transitioned to the ISPOR Partnership Group to provide a forum for collaboration across a broader spectrum of ISPOR membership organizations and ISPOR leadership. The ISPOR Partnership Group serves as a strategic platform to foster health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) innovation and thought leadership among senior leaders in life sciences, HEOR service providers, and other healthcare organizations.
Mission
The Partnership Group promotes evidence-based decision making across worldwide healthcare systems via the conduct and dissemination of rigorous HEOR. In doing so, patient access to cost-effective healthcare will be optimized, while challenges such as health equity and affordability are also addressed.
Objectives
The primary objective of the ISPOR Partnership Group is to advance the design and execution of impactful HEOR that supports evidence-based decision making and ensures patient access to cost-effective healthcare.
Additional objectives include:
- Shaping HEOR practices and healthcare policies that promote the sustainable development of innovative therapies across life sciences organizations
- Championing patient-centric approaches that lead to improved patient outcomes
- Anticipating and adapting to emerging trends in healthcare technology, policy, and innovation
- Serving as a strategic advisory body to ISPOR’s leadership, providing high-level input into ISPOR’s direction, particularly on priorities that align with those of Partnership Group member organizations
Membership and Role
To ensure the Partnership Group discussions are informed by substantial expertise and broad strategic perspectives, the ISPOR Partnership Group membership includes senior-level leaders from:
- Life science organizations (pharma, biotech, medical device companies)
- HEOR service/solution providers
- Healthcare providers
- HTA organizations and payers
- Other key healthcare stakeholders
The ISPOR Partnership Group plays a pivotal role in shaping ISPOR’s vision by serving as an advisory body with ongoing, direct interaction with ISPOR leadership. In this manner, the group functions in a distinctly different way than other ISPOR councils, special interest groups, and task forces. The Partnership Group will work to align the HEOR and health policy objectives of their organizations with ISPOR’s Strategic Plan 2030 by establishing common strategic objectives, utilizing structured collaboration and dialogue, and leveraging ISPOR’s role as a convener. Partnership Group members are encouraged to openly share insights and potential solutions to common challenges.
