Willingness to Pay for a Coronavirus Vaccine: Correspondence

Abstract

We read the article entitled “Willingness to pay for a coronavirus vaccine and its associated determinants in Lebanon.” Karam et al mentioned that “The WTP was comparable with other studies and highly associated with the level of education, the household income, living in the city during the lockdown, and the perceived severity of COVID-19. These findings can help in understanding COVID-19 vaccination acceptance and WTP in Lebanon.” We agree that the willingness to pay (WTP) might be an important determinant for getting vaccination of several people. The previous study from Japan also showed that WTP is related to perception on disease severity.  Nevertheless, another study from Nigeria showed that religion and age were related to WTP.
