Description
The upcoming webinar is the final one of a 4-part series. Utilizing the feedback from regulators, manufacturers, and patient representatives collected during all 3 previous webinars, the objective of this session will be to move the discussion further
and elicit specific generic recommendations on the value assessment framework for digital solutions to ensure equal access to data driven health innovation across jurisdictions.
Digital transformation introduces new opportunities and challenges with the growing amount of data generated directly by individuals keen on using new digital tools. It is a new potential source of real-world evidence (RWE) that may be utilized to either
predict treatment outcomes or diagnose the disease as well as to inform decision making about ongoing patient’s health issues. While the estimates pointing towards more than one trillion chips to be in use by 2035, there are already more than
350,000 mHealth applications available today with more than 86 million health and fitness app users in the USA alone.
Although we observe unprecedented increase in the use of data driven technologies by individuals in some countries, the adoption and integration of digital health solutions into the healthcare systems across the jurisdictions still remains to be developed.
Given the issues with digital literacy, data privacy concerns, and instances of low awareness of benefits with digital solutions, there are valid concerns about the risk of unequal access to data driven innovations across the globe. There is a need
to set up the value assessment framework that will guide the development of country specific pricing and reimbursement(P&R) schemes tailored to local socio-cultural ecosystems.
The multi-stakeholder panel in this webinar will discuss how to strike the balance between openness and security in the process of health data collection for the successful value assessment regarding digital solutions.
Learning Objectives
- Discuss the key findings from previous webinars which reviewed the regulatory/legal, manufacturer/payer, and patient perspectives on the balance between data privacy and the need for data sharing (openness) in the digital health era.
- Explore the development of generic recommendations for data sharing in P&R setting to ensure equal access to data driven healthcare services.
- List potential generic recommendations for manufacturers on the value propositions development for digital health solutions utilizing available data for the benefit of patients.
