DESCRIPTION
Designed to demonstrate the need for systematic literature reviews and meta-analysis for comparative effectiveness research and health care decision making. Participants will be shown the steps to perform a systematic literature review and will then be able to understand the statistical methods of combining extracted data by means of meta-analysis. Finally, the advantages and limitations of meta-analysis will be explained, and meta-analytic reports will be appraised which will lead to the ability to decide whether the results should be used.
PREREQUISITE: Attendance at this course or equivalent knowledge is a prerequisite to attending the course "Advanced Decision Modeling for Health Economic Evaluations" at ISPOR 2023.
