ANALYSIS OF DRUG TREATMENT OF PATIENTS WITH BREAST CANCER IN MOSCOW REGION

OBJECTIVE: Breast cancer (BC) is the most common cancer and also the primary cause of mortality due to cancer in female. The aim of the study was to analyze types of drug therapy of BC in Moscow Region. METHODS: To estimate the structure of prescribed drug therapy in Moscow Region for patients with ICD C50 we analyzed database of reimbursed drug prescription of Ministry of Health of the Moscow region in 2019, as well as literature sources. RESULTS: There was estimated that the most prescribed type of drug therapy of BC is hormone therapy (78,6% of total amount of drug prescriptions), then targeted therapy (14,0%) and chemotherapy (7,4%). We have also calculated prescribed hormone therapy drugs: anastrozole (59,9% of all prescriptions), letrozole (22,5%), goserelin (5,6%), fulvestrant (5,6%), tamoxifen (3,8%), other 6 INN (2,7%); targeted therapy drugs: trastuzumab (68,1% of all prescriptions), pertuzumab (7,8%), bevacizumab (7,6%), trastuzumab emtansine (5,2%), lapatinib (3,9%), other 17 INN (7,4%); chemotherapy drugs: paclitaxel (25,4% of all prescriptions), capecitabine (21,1%), docetaxel (14,2%), vinorelbine (12,5%), carboplatin (9%), other 15 INN (17,7%). CONCLUSIONS: Analysis of drug therapy of patients with breast cancer in Moscow Region demonstrates that the most prescribed type of drug treatment is hormone therapy. This type of therapy was prescribed to 85,4% of total amount of patients with BC.
