Description
This webinar will provide a beginner-friendly introduction to the methods and applications of discrete choice experiments (DCEs) for eliciting utilities for cost-effectiveness analyses. Many HEOR professionals are familiar with either DCEs and other preference methods or utility valuation, but not both.
This webinar will help HEOR professionals understand the connection between these two areas. Attendees will gain a clear understanding of the basics, along with practical design approaches and a concise overview of current methodological developments in the field. The session will discuss the following:
- Introduction of DCE as a method and its use for utility estimation for cost-effectiveness analyses.
- Designing DCEs to estimate utilities.
- Practical design approaches when including the duration aspect.
- Methodological considerations and developments.
Learning Objectives
- Why DCEs are used to estimate utilities for cost-effectiveness analyses.
- A range of methods for adapting DCEs to elicit utilities.
- Current methodological developments and challenges in using DCEs for eliciting utilities.
