This course explores the evolution of US value assessment frameworks, from the ISPOR Special Task Force Report (2018) to advanced cost-effectiveness methodologies like Generalized and Risk-Adjusted Cost-Effectiveness (GRACE) and Generalized CEA (GCEA). The course examines how these frameworks incorporate broader value elements, decision-making perspectives, and resource allocation strategies.

  • Evolution of US Value Frameworks: ISPOR Value Flower, GRACE, and GCEA
  • Expanding Cost-Effectiveness Analysis (CEA): Beyond cost-per-QALY, incorporating insurance value, hope, and disease severity
  • Budget Considerations & Opportunity Costs: Cost-effectiveness thresholds and affordability constraints
  • Advanced Value-Based Decision-Making: Multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) and social welfare functions (SWFs)
