C. Bernie Good MD, MPH is a Senior Medical Director with UPMC Health Plan Insurance Division, director for the UPMC Center for Value Based Pharmacy Initiatives (VBPI), and Professor of Medicine and Pharmacy at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Good came to UPMC in December 2017, and under his direction VBPI has achieved national acclaim for leadership in developing and administering value-based pharmacy contracts (VBCs). Prior to coming to UPMC, Dr. Good chaired the Medical Advisory Panel for the Department of Veterans Affairs, tasked with overseeing the VA national drug formulary. Dr. Good is widely published in the areas of medication safety, conflicts of interest, pharmacy benefits management, and value based pharmaceutical contracting.  He is the proud father of 3 adult children and 7 grandchildren; his hobbies include biking and hiking, roasting coffee, gardening, and caring for his flock of chickens.
