ABSTRACT WITHDRAWN

OBJECTIVES: To analyze the incidence of kidney cancer in different cities in Colombia, to determine differences.

METHODS: Descriptive study with ecological component. The source of information was secondary. INFOCANCER data were taken. ASIR x 100,000 for Renal Cancer (ICD10 code: C64) were analyzed during the years 2008 to 2017 in cities with Population Cancer Registries endorsed by the National Institute of Cancer.

RESULTS: The highest ASIR x 100,000 were observed in Cali: between 3.9 and 4.9 and the lowest in Pasto: between 1.1 and 2.3. Medellín, Barranquilla, Manizales, Bucaramanga and Cali showed an increasing trend and only Pasto showed a decreasing trend and in the 6 cities the incidence was significantly (p<0.05) higher in men.

CONCLUSIONS: Only Cali had rates like those reported worldwide, which could be related to its consolidation because of more than 50 years of work and its positioning as a high-quality Population Cancer Registry; However, differences in cities may be due to social, environmental, and genetic factors. A behavior towards an increase in the incidence of kidney cancer was observed in 5 of the 6 cities observed, except for Pasto and differences were found between them and this incidence was higher for men.
