Gerardo is director, Real World Evidence at Janssen Latin America. He has spent 18 years in the pharmaceutical industry (country, region, and global levels) in roles involving health economics, outcomes research and analytics across different therapeutic areas (cardiovascular, diabetes, hematology, immunology, neurology, oncology, and respiratory). He has an international education in economics (Universidad Católica Argentina), health economics (University of York, UK), and epidemiology/public health/biostatistics (Saint Louis University, USA).
Gerardo has been an invited lecturer for several health economics/health management programs (Universidad Isalud, Universidad de San Andres, Universidad de Buenos Aires, and Universidad Maimónides). He has been co-instructor for economic analysis short courses presented by ISPOR and also serves as the chair of the 2018-2019 ISPOR Research Methods Awards Committee. Additionally, he has authored 20 peer reviewed journals and has developed other forms of communication which includes participating as author in scientific books, editorials, oral and poster presentations at international scientific meetings.
His skills include the design and analysis of epidemiological studies, economic evaluation of healthcare technologies, health technology assessment, health outcomes research with large databases, patient-reported outcomes, and resource allocation in healthcare and statistical modeling. Gerardo is also interested in big data in healthcare, creating impactful real-world evidence (RWE) strategies, and innovative epidemiologic and statistical methods.
