Dr. Bresnahan is a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Radiology of the University of Washington (UW) School of Medicine and Harborview Medical Center (HMC) in Seattle, Washington in the United States of America. He is a health economist and health services researcher working in the UW / HMC Radiology Health Services Research (HSR) Section and in the UW Comparative Effectiveness, Cost, and Outcomes Research Center (CECORC). Dr. Bresnahan is an Adjunct Research Associate Professor in the UW School of Public Health, Department of Health Services and the UW School of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacy. He has a passion for helping others and for working with vulnerable populations. He worked in the international bio-pharmaceutical industry for seven years, and specializes in HSR, health economics, comparative effectiveness, health policy, and patient-centered outcomes research. He has worked on global health studies in pharmaceutical research and in academic research, including work related to measles vaccination strategies and priorities, oncology, portable ultrasound use in lower-income countries, as well as maternal health simulation-based education in Africa. He has collaborated on several studies assessing older adults with low back pain and also supports quality improvement projects at HMC focused on radiology / hospital operations, process efficiency, resource use, cost, diversity/equity, trauma care, emergency care, and transitions in care.
