Allan Wailoo, PhD, is a Professor of Health Economics in the School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR), University of Sheffield, UK where he has worked since 2000. He directs the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence’s Decision Support Unit and is co-Director (with Mark Sculpher) of the UK Department of Health Policy Research Unit for Economic Evaluation. He is a member of NICE’s Medical Technologies Appraisal Committee and co-Editor for the ISPOR journal “Value in Health” and recently Chaired the ISPOR Task Force on Good Practices in Mapping on which this short course is based. He has published numerous papers on mapping methods and has wider research interests in all areas of economic evaluation and related methods.
