  • ISPOR Launches New Website and Association Management System

    The new ISPOR website is now live! This officially launches Phase I of a multiyear plan for our new information technology (IT) systems. These new IT systems will help us better serve you—our members. The new website is optimized for mobile devices and offers improved navigation, search functionality, etc. It is also integrated with our new association management system—an IT platform that will provide members with many benefits, including the ability to manage your member profile, set communication preferences, and indicate areas of interest.   • Theme Announced for ISPOR Europe 2018

    The conference theme has just been announced for ISPOR Europe 2018: “New Perspectives for Improving 21st Century Health Systems.” The conference will be held 10-14 November 2018 in Barcelona, Spain and anticipates welcoming 5000+ attendees. Plenary sessions will cover topics such as joint assessment of relative effectiveness, pharmaceutical pricing, and budget impact and expenditure caps. Registration is open with discounted early registration available through 25 September 2018.

  • Topics Announced for ISPOR Summit on Value Assessment

    ISPOR's upcoming scientific summit will focus "New Approaches to Value Assessment – Towards More Informed Pricing in Healthcare." The keynote speaker will be Mark McClellan, MD, PhD, former FDA Commissioner and current Director of the Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy.

  • ISPOR Welcomes Its 2018-2019 Board of Directors

    ISPOR's 2018-2019 Board of Directors assumed office on July 1, 2018. Federico Augustovski, MD, MSc, PhD assumes the role of president, Shelby D. Reed, RPh, PhD assumes the role of past president, and Nancy J. Devlin, PhD was recently elected to the position of president-elect. Additional information can be found here.

  • ISPOR Asia Pacific 2018 Just One Month Away

    The ISPOR Asia Pacific 2018 conference is rapidly approaching.   • ISPOR Patient Centered Special Interest Group Invites Members to Comment on Report

    The ISPOR Patient Centered Special Interest Group's working group invites members to comment on the report "Defining Patient Engagement in Research: Results of a Systematic Review and Analysis." Members interested in providing comments should do so via emailby Monday, August 27.

  • Dialogue with Key Stakeholders - Two ISPOR Roundtables Held on 27 July in Lima, Peru

    • 40th Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Roundtable – Latin America: 11 participants from 9 Latin American countries attended the ISPOR HTA Roundtable – Latin America. Topics of discussion were stakeholder involvement, assessing value and affordability in Latin America, and implementing HTA beyond national HTA bodies.
    • 11th Patient Representatives Roundtable – Latin America: 20 participants, including patient representatives, representatives from HTA bodies, researchers, and industry, met to discuss patient engagement in the decision-making process. Topics of discussion included the role patients play in HTA in the Latin America region and the barriers and challenges they face in the decision-making process.

  • ISPOR Peru Chapter Acknowledged for Support of the Recent HTA Training in Lima, Peru

    ISPOR and the Latin America Consortium would like to thank and acknowledge the ISPOR Peru Chapter for their active participation and support of the ISPOR HTA training in Lima, Peru that took place on 23-26 July. Additional information on the chapter and their activities can be found here.

  • Chapter Leadership Training Opportunity at ISPOR Europe 2018

    This interactive training workshop, offered on 11 November 2018 from 17:30 to 19:30 at ISPOR Europe 2018 in Barcelona, Spain, is designed for Regional Chapter leaders to equip them with in-depth information on ways to get involved in various ISPOR activities and on ISPOR Chapter governance and management requirements. It also provides them with opportunities to learn from peers on successful approaches to Chapter member engagement, leadership succession, training, stakeholder involvement, etc. To register for the event, the Chapter leaders are welcomed to contact Chapter Liaisons in the respective ISPOR Global Networks region [Latin AmericaAsia-Pacific, and EMEA].

  • ISPOR Regional Group Meetings to be Held at ISPOR Dubai 2018

    The ISPOR United Arab Emirates Chapter (18 Sept), ISPOR Arabic Network (19 Sept), and ISPOR Algeria Chapter (20 Sept) are holding meetings next month during ISPOR Dubai 2018. Participation in the meetings is open to the members of these regional groups and is offered on a first-come-first-served basis upon the ISPOR Dubai registration confirmation as well as RSVP for the meeting (email us).   • ISPOR Arabic and Africa Networks Welcome New Chairs

    ISPOR welcomes new Chairs (2018-2020) of the Arabic and Africa Networks Executive Committees: Dr. Ola Ghaleb Al Ahdab (Arabic Network) and Dr. Mohammed Lamorde (Africa Network). Dr. Mahmoud Elmahdawy joins the ISPOR Arabic Network leadership as the Chair-Elect (2018-2020). The Chairs will be leading the activities of these ISPOR global groups in close collaboration with the Networks Executive Committee members and support of the ISPOR Global Networks - EMEA team.   • ISPOR India Chapter to Host Annual and International Conferences in October 2018

    The ISPOR India Chapter will host to 2 prominent events this 8-19 October 2018: the 17th Annual Conference of Society of Pharmacovigilance India and the 7th International Conference of ISPOR India.   • ISPOR Colombia Chapter to Host Bi-Annual Conference in Bogota, Colombia

    The ISPOR Colombia Chapter will be hosting their bi-annual conference, “V Congress ISPOR Colombia,” at Cámara de Comercio in Bogota, Colombia from August 22nd to the 24th. The event will have the participation of international and local speakers, including ISPOR’s Chief Science Officer, Dr. Dick Willke.
